The garden is next to the Chi Lin Nunnery with man made lakes, rock structures, a famous vegetarian restaurant that needs to be booked, and a tea house. Crossing a bridge will take you to the Chi Lin Nunnery
Admission to the garden is free of charge but a ticket is needed that will be pass out daily at the entrance nearest to the MTR as there will be crowd control.
